Also, we provide surface transport for quick pick up of cargo from origin of interior points in India and abroad, thanks to our extensive network and qualified experienced personnel." Responding to a question if vaccines will continue moving by air due to its highly sensitive nature, which needs prudent temperature control of the commodity, or if reefer sector of sea transport may penetrate into this segment in view of growing dynamism of sea cargo sector, Raje said, "Vaccines which are placed under temperature-controlled environment in order to maintain its shelf Iife are to be transported in faster mode of transportation. It is evident that it has to move by air, as the products are meant for specific human use.
For this particular cargo, sea transport can not match the speed of air, taking into consideration several factors including transit times and quick connectivity to final destination among others. Delayed delivery of vaccines runs various risks of harming the life of products. Here cost is secondary factor. Time management and temperature control throughout the journey of the product from end to end occupy prime importance.
